No, nel mondo lunare, la data di inizio dell’anno dipende dalla posizione della nostra luminosa compagna nel cielo notturno (che ancora sto cercando di imparare). Quindi, non stupitevi se un anno festeggiamo in piena luce lunare e l’anno successivo ci ritroviamo a brindare sotto un cielo stellato!
Ma aspettate, c’è di più! Ogni anno lunare è associato a uno degli animali dello zodiaco cinese. Quest’anno è il dragone. Possiamo ringraziare l’antica saggezza cinese per averci regalato una varietà di animali che rendono questo calendario molto più divertente! Those who know me know that I love the moon, and if you’re anything like me, you enjoy embracing the strangeness and wonder of all things lunar. So, what’s so special about the lunar new year? Well, for starters, it doesn’t follow the usual calendar in our kitchen. No, in the lunar world, the start date of the year depends on the position of our luminous companion in the night sky (which I’m still trying to learn). So, don’t be surprised if one year we’re celebrating under a full moon and the following year we find ourselves toasting under a starry sky!
But wait, there’s more! Each lunar year is associated with one of the animals of the Chinese zodiac. This year is the Dragon. We can thank ancient Chinese wisdom for giving us a variety of animals that make this calendar much more fun! From brave rats to joyful pigs, there’s an animal for everyone!
